Aside from bestselling books, blockbuster movies this summer have generated record sales due to the opening of Batman: The Dark Knight. Another top seller at the box office was Mamma Mia. I had the opportunity to see Mamma Mia for the very first time on opening night and to be honest, I was shocked to hear it was sold out. I'm not much of a movie musical fan, but it was fun to see the movie with a group of friends. Although I have not had the opportunity to read or see the play, I have heard that it is better than the actual movie. I felt Meryl Streep was fabulous in this movie...who would have thought she could sing so beautifully. Reviewed by: Olga

this is one of the only plays i've ever seen, which ended up being great... it's funny to think of ol' Pierce taking a stab at singing, yeeesh
I'd have to agree with you there...I usually like movies that Pierce is in but I'd have to say his singing could not compare to Meryl at all in this movie.
