Romantic Getaways

Bachelor Brothers' Bed & Breakfast

The Bachelor Brothers' Bed & Breakfast is a rustic retreat on one of British Columbia's beautiful Gulf Islands. Its owners are the endearingly eccentric Hector and Virgil, twins by birth, though not by nature. Their B&B attracts a particular and sometimes peculiar clientele of slightly confused and gentle bookish people. Bachelor Brothers' Bed & Breakfast relates the stories of Hector and Virgil growing up, their recent misadventures, and excerpts from their visitors' book, in which their guests describe the mysterious paths that led them to this haven of old-world charm that time has thankfully passed by. (From the Publisher)

Please recommend a memorable Bed & Breakfast that you have visited!

By far, one of my favorite B&Bs in Ontario is Chalet by the Lake. The owners have now moved to a differently location and it is now called Chalet in the Woods. The hosts are really nice and they have 2 of the cutest dogs ever (Higgins & Harley).

I have never been to a bed and breakfast but after having read this book I think it would be a great escape. I have often wanted to spend a day just reading but with faced with neverending housework reading at home just doesn't seem a priority. So, maybe that is what I can do this summer. I will be watching for the suggestions and maybe check one out.

If you are travelling in Mark Twain's neck of the woods stop in at the Garth Woodside Mansion Bed & Breakfast. It is located on a private estate near Hannibal Missouri. It has a wonderful ambience of history and the most delicious breakfast hosted by very charming owners. You can check it out on the Internet http://www.hannibal-missouri.com/mansion.htm#
